HQ Architects is an international practice founded in Tel Aviv in 2008 by Erez Ella. The office strives to challenge conventions and create culturally impactful buildings, spaces, and urban environments.

With a strong focus on pragmatic and programmatic approaches, the practice combines innovative, high-quality design with robust technical expertise. HQ Architects leads the design and construction of a diverse range of projects, both in Israel and internationally. The practice’s expanding portfolio spans various sectors, including urban design, public spaces, infrastructure, as well as cultural, educational, office, hotel, and retail projects.

Public and urban projects are central to HQ Architects’ work, including major infrastructure developments. The firm leads several international design consortiums in collaboration with SOM, delivering key infrastructure across Israel, including metro stations and intermodal hubs in the greater Tel Aviv metropolitan area. These projects enhance transportation connections while transforming the surrounding urban environment. With over 30 active masterplans and urban renewal projects, HQ Architects is also guiding the transformation of Sheba Medical Center, ranked the world’s 9th best hospital, into an innovative, future-ready integrated healthcare environment, alongside a Learning and Living Campus masterplan designed as a living laboratory for sustainability.

The practice has strong expertise in cultural and institutional projects, including the recently completed Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance advanced Inter Arts Center designed with HWKN, and the 42,000 m² Bezalel Academy campus in Jerusalem, developed with SANAA (Kazuyo Sejima + Ryue Nishizawa). The House for Singing, a choir performance hall, is under construction, and a new cultural center in Lod is in planning.

HQ Architects also boasts a rapidly expanding portfolio in sports facilities, including two tennis complexes, the Stuart Weitzman Tennis Complex in Jerusalem (completed in 2025) and another in Sderot along with an international-standard tennis arena in Jerusalem, a new 16,000 sqm Sports Arena in Ashdod, and the Congress Arena in Herzliya that started construction in 2025, among others.

HQ Architects and Erez Ella continue their long-standing presence in Istanbul with two new fashion, retail, and commercial projects and together with several ongoing residential and hospitality projects in Albania, these developments further expand HQA’s international portfolio.
