Panagiotis Papanikolaou design studio is an award - winning practice, founded in Athens in 2020. The studio provides tailored design solutions for a variety of small and medium scale residential and commercial projects, with a strong interest on bespoke interior design. The studio’s approach focuses on creating unique spaces, in harmony with their context, while always respecting the existing architectural and historic conditions. The core of the studio’s work is the continuity of its’ design proposals with the existing context, along with an approach that allows harmonic colour and material relationships to take the leading role in the compositions. The architectural heritage and the way of life of the Mediterranean are a constant source of inspiration for every new design project.
Over the years, the studio's work has been widely published in several architectural and interior design magazines and websites. In 2024 the 'Rural House in Kythera' won the Big See Architecture Award 2024 and in 2023 the 'Wooden Box Apartment' won the BIG SEE Interior Design Award 2023. while back in 2021, the project 'Apartment in Neapoli' was awarded the BIG SEE Interior Design Award 2021. The 'Rural House in Kythera' also participated in the 11th Biennale of Young Greek Architects, organised by the Hellenic Institute of Architecture in Thessaloniki, in 2023. In 2025 the studio was awarded the Best Architectural Design Studio of the Year in Greece Award by BUILD Magazine, while in the same year the Rural House on Kythera was awarded the Best Traditional Residential Architecture Project in Greece by BUILD Magazine (UK).
