Το νέο Info Point του Δήμου Αθηναίων βρίσκεται στην κεντρική πλατεία Συντάγματος, στην καρδιά της Αθήνας, όπου καθημερινά εξυπηρετεί εκατοντάδες τουρίστες. Για πρώτη φορά ο Δήμος Αθηναίων έχει κατάστημα πληροφοριών για το κοινό σε σταθερό χώρο. Πρόθεση του Δημάρχου Αθηναίων, Κώστα Μπακογιάννη, και του γραφείου μας, ήταν να δημιουργήσουμε έναν σύγχρονο χώρο, τεχνολογικά αναβαθμισμένο, με επιλεγμένα υλικά που να θυμίζουν στον επισκέπτη την Ελλάδα, συνδυάζοντας φινέτσα, λειτουργικότητα και λιτές γραμμές. Παράλληλα, δόθηκε ιδιαίτερη έμφαση στη μελέτη και ανάδειξη του φωτισμού. Στο Info Point κυριαρχούν οι καθαρές φόρμες και η διακριτική ατμόσφαιρα πολυτέλειας.     

Οι δυσκολίες του χώρου ήταν μεγάλη πρόκληση για το γραφείο μας. Από την είσοδο κατέβαινες 4 σκαλοπάτια για τη στάθμη του επιπέδου, η οροφή είναι κάτω από τον δρόμο και σε όλο το μήκος έχει μεγάλη κλίση, ενώ ένα δοκάρι δυσκολεύει ακόμα περισσότερο το ύψος και την αρμονία που θέλαμε να δώσουμε στον χώρο. Βασικό μέλημα ήταν να μπορούν οι ΑΜΕΑ να επισκέπτονται όλους τους χώρους του γραφείου πληροφοριών του Δήμου Αθηναίων.

Η πρόταση να τοποθετηθεί η reception στο κέντρο του χώρου έλυσε τα περισσότερα λειτουργικά προβλήματα. Έτσι όλοι οι επισκέπτες έχουν πρόσβαση στο πωλητήριο, το εκθετήριο, τους διαδραστικούς πίνακες και τον εκθεσιακό χώρο, χωρίς συνωστισμό. Υπάρχει ένας διάδρομος περιμετρικά της reception, όπου δημιουργήσαμε δυο ράμπες και έτσι εξαφανίσαμε τα σκαλοπάτια στον χώρο, διατηρώντας το επιθυμητό πέρασμα - ύψος στο σημείο που έχουμε το δοκάρι. Στην οροφή δημιουργήσαμε ένα γλυπτό ανάγλυφο, από λευκά αναρτώμενα φύλλα αλουμινίου, τα οποία ακολουθούν τη ροή του επισκέπτη και της reception και με αυτόν τον τρόπο εξαφανίζουμε τη μεγάλη κλίση που έχει η οροφή μας. Η κεντρική σύνθεση με τα καμπύλα γραμμικά φωτιστικά πάνω από τη reception έχει ενταχθεί στο ανάγλυφο γλυπτό της οροφής. 

Ο φωτισμός του χώρου είναι με ψυχρό φως την ημέρα, ενώ, όταν σκοτεινιάζει, αυτόματοι αισθητήρες δίνουν εντολή και ο φωτισμός γίνεται σταδιακά πιο θερμός για τη σωστή λειτουργία και αίσθηση στον χώρο. Το εκθετήριο είναι κατασκευασμένο από λευκή λάκκα και στις γυάλινες προθήκες και ράφια έχουμε κρυφά γραμμικά φωτιστικά. Οι οθόνες και ο διαδραστικός πίνακας έχουν ενταχθεί στην τοιχοποιία, περιμετρικά του χώρου. Στην εσοχή που δημιουργήσαμε πριν την έξοδο από το info point, θα φιλοξενούνται εκθέματα από μουσεία της Αθήνας. Στο δάπεδο και στον όγκο της reception χρησιμοποιήσαμε μωσαϊκό σε λευκό χρώμα, με αποχρώσεις του γκρι στα πετρώματα. Ο πάγκος της reception είναι από corian σε μπλέ χρώμα, που θυμίζει στον επισκέπτη την Ελλάδα. Το μεγάλο άνοιγμα στην πρόσοψη βοηθάει στη γρήγορη εξυπηρέτηση των τουριστών. Πάντα με σεβασμό στην πλατεία και τον χαρακτήρα της, στην πρόσοψη απλά καθαρίσαμε τα μάρμαρα και η σήμανση είναι διακριτική.

Πρεμιέρα του νέου γραφείου πληροφοριών του Δήμου Αθηναίων έγινε τον Δεκέμβριο, με το ανάμμα του χριστουγεννιάτικου δέντρου στην πλατεία Συντάγματος, με την παρουσία 25 Δημάρχων από όλον τον κόσμο!

The new Info Point of the Municipality of Athens is located in the central Syntagma Square, in the heart of Athens, where it serves hundreds of tourists every day. For the first time the Municipality of Athens has an information shop for the public in a fixed location. The intention of the Mayor of Athens Kostas Bakoyannis and our office was to create a modern space, technologically upgraded with selected materials that remind the visitor of Greece, combining elegance, functionality and simple lines. At the same time, special emphasis was placed on the study and promotion of lighting. The new Info Point is dominated by clean forms and a discreet atmosphere of luxury.

The difficulties of the space were a big challenge for our office. From the entrance you go down 4 steps to the level, the roof is under the street and all along it has a big slope and a beam makes it even more difficult to get the height and harmony we wanted to give to the space. The main concern was to enable people with disabilities to visit all areas of the information office of the Municipality of Athens.

The proposal to place the reception in the centre of the venue solved most of the operational problems. This way all visitors have access to the shop, showroom, interactive panels, exhibition space, without crowds. There is a corridor around the perimeter of the reception where we created two ramps so we eliminated the steps in the space and kept the desired - passing height at the point where we have the beam. On the ceiling we created a sculptural relief of white suspended aluminum tiles that follow the flow of the visitor and the reception and in this way we eliminate the steep slope of our ceiling. The central composition with the curved linear fixtures above the reception has been integrated into the relief sculpture of the ceiling. 

The lighting of the room is with cold light during the day and when it gets dark automatic sensors give a command and the lighting becomes gradually warmer for the right function and feeling in the room. The showroom is made of white lacquer and on the glass display cases and shelves we have hidden linear lights. The screens and the interactive whiteboard have been integrated into the masonry around the perimeter of the space. In the alcove we created before the exit from the info point, we will host exhibits from museums of Athens. On the floor and the volume of the reception we used mosaic in white with shades of grey in the stones. The reception counter is made of corian in blue color that reminds the visitor of Greece. The large opening in the front helps to serve tourists quickly. Always respectful of the square and its character, we simply cleaned the marble on the frontage and the signage is unobtrusive.

The premiere of the new information office of the Municipality of Athens took place in December with the lighting of the Christmas tree in Syntagma Square with the presence of 25 Mayors from all over the world!
